Arnica (Arnica)
Arnica
The first appearance of Arnica is in 1731 in a gardening magazine. The name may derive from an alteration of latin “ptarnica”, derived in turn from greek ptarnikos (sneeze) with reference to the sneezing properties of Arnica’s scent.
According to other theories arnica derives from greek arnakis which indicated the skin of the lamb with reference to the weaving of arnica’s leaves.
